Frequently asked Questions:

If my event is outside, does The Open Booth have to stay inside?

The Open Booth is strictly an indoor booth. However, we may be able to make exceptions for covered outdoor areas, enclosed tents, or protected spaces. The main concern is wind, followed by rain. Even with proper securing, our backdrops can become hazardous or damaged by a slight breeze. If your event is entirely outdoors, we recommend the GIF Booth or Photo Bus as better options.

Do you charge for setup time?

No, setup time is free. We arrive approximately 30–60 minutes before your requested start time, and teardown takes about 30 minutes. We recommend booking for the full duration of your event so that setup and teardown don’t occur while guests are present.

How much space do you need?

The required space depends on the backdrop you choose, as some are wider than others. As a general guideline, we need about 11' x 11', but with certain backdrops, our footprint can be as small as 7.75' (width) x 6' (depth).

Do we pay for setup time?

No, setup time is free. We arrive around 45-60 min before our start time to setup, and it takes us about 20 min to tear down and leave. If you need us to arrive earlier or stay later due to logistics, we have a reasonable fee for this extra time.

Do you print on-site? 

Absolutely! While we always include a small The Photo Bus logo at the bottom, we also customize prints for your event—whether it's a wedding, birthday, fundraiser, or just for fun. We love creating lasting memories and are happy to design something special for you. See some examples above.

What backgrounds do you offer, and are they included?

Yes! Every Open Booth package includes a background. We also offer custom-branded backgrounds featuring your logo or fully custom-printed options to match your event’s theme. Check out our standard free background options.

How much does it cost to rent The Open Booth?

Pricing depends on the number of hours, day of the week, and the season. Contact us for an exact quote for your event date. Every package includes unlimited prints, an on-site attendant, props, a custom print design, and your choice of background.

Do you travel? 

The Photo Bus travels to events in the immediate Kansas City metro area at no additional cost. If you're curious about having this unique photo booth at your event outside of the metro, contact us and we'll see how we can accomodate! We also have affiliates in multiple cities.
